I discovered my fascination with nature early on.
Growing up in Curaçao, we naturally spent most of our time outside. Whenever I needed space—time alone or a break from my family—I would climb out my window and sit quietly in the bushes, even in the rain, or wander down the street to hide in the brush.
Though I was educated both abroad and in the U.S., I’ve now spent 26 years in Santa Fe—first as a student at St. John’s College, and later as a landscape designer, business owner, and mother.
My love for Santa Fe didn’t happen overnight. It unfolded slowly, through motherhood and the rhythm of life here. I began to appreciate the stark beauty of the landscape, the weight of our sunsets, the timing of the moon’s phases, and the warmth of the community. These elements revealed themselves more vividly through the eyes of a mother, under the endless, open skies.
I started Urbanna as a way to spend more time outdoors and have fun. But as I grew into the work, I also reconnected with the natural world—and, in doing so, rediscovered the quiet, essential truths of my own heart.
I get to cultivate my passion for turning chaos into beautiful spaces while also serving people who love our work.
